The season is well underway!
Here we are folks! well underway into the 2023 fishing season. Everything wintered well at the camp this year and opening went flawlessly.
Ice out on all the lakes was May 2nd and followed with some cooler weather for a couple weeks. At this moment the weather has been unseasonably hot with daytime highs reaching the mid 80’s.
The fishing has been excellent! Walleye spawn is now over and the water temps are coming up to about 72 degrees with strong fishing action. As per usual a jig with frozen minnow is all you need for catching walleye. Any type of spoon, spinner or floating bait will produce intense pike action.
We are excited to have some bear hunters this spring. All the sites are baited and producing lots of nice boars. Our hunters arrive today so it should be a fun week of hunting and fishing.
We have a few additions to the camps this year to make your stay even more enjoyable…
Carroll lake outpost has plumbed water down to the filleting station with a spray nozzle for easy cleanup.
Gammon river outpost is getting a new solar system for indoor lights
Wallace lake lodge added another rental boat to it’s fleet with a total of 5 boats available
Wallace lake lodge also added a wood fired hot tub for guests to use during their stay
All in all we are excited for this season and look forward to seeing our returning and new guests.
If you are looking for a trip this year please send us an email or give us a call as we have openings throughout the year that we would be able to accommodate you.
All the best!
