Pimachiowin Aki is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Canada
Pimachiowin Aki is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Canada, recognized for both its extraordinary natural landscapes and living culture — making it one of the world’s rare “mixed” cultural and natural sites. It was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2018 and is known as “the land that gives life.” Pimachiowin Aki spans about 29,040 km² of the boreal forest across eastern Manitoba and northwestern Ontario — a region of vast lakes, wetlands, rivers, and woodland. It is Canada’s first mixed UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognized equally for its cultural significance and natural value — only a few such mixed sites exist worldwide.
While Pimachiowin Aki is vast and largely wilderness — meaning there are no theme park style attractions — its natural and cultural sights are truly remarkable.
Wallace lake lodge is uniquely located along the edge of the incredible park and we can help you with your travel to view this amazing place.
